In 2009, Elisita Punto and I had a vision for a mobile printing press and exposure unit. We fabricated them for an exhibition in Santiago, Chile. The exposure unit(Laura Michele) and press(Cindy C) were utilized for printing pamphlets, posters, , fabric, and cd covers for other aspects of the show and the gallery. Several workshops were done for the public to see how beautiful, useful, and simple the print process can be. In 2011, I created a new press and unit in Cleveland Ohio for Arts Collinwood. Based on the early designs with some improvements the devices were used for workshops, afterschool programs, and left with the art organization for future use. I created a mobile press out of 100% found materials during this time for myself. It is called Shirley T and can hold two screens, ink, squeegee, paper and other printing material. One side of the press is for paper printing and the reverse is a simple platen set up for 1color shirt printing. Shirley T is still printing flags, flyers and shirts. If you ask her nicely I am sure she would help you too.
